Garlic Cheese Spread

This garlic cheese spread goes well with vegetables, crackers, or breads.

  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 8-ounce package nonfat cream cheese, softened
  • 3 tablespoons chopped pimiento
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Cut-up vegetables, low-fat crackers or baked chips (not included in nutritional information)

  1. Combine all ingredients except cut-up vegetables or crackers in food processor or blender and process until smooth and creamy.
  2. Spoon cheese mixture into bowl and cover with plastic wrap; refrigerate up to 1 week.
  3. Serve with vegetables, low-fat crackers or baked chips.
  • According to ancient Greek herbal lore, black pepper was once used as an aphrodisiac due to its heat-producing powers.
