Garlic Cheese Spread

This garlic cheese spread goes well with vegetables, crackers, or breads.
Serves: Serves: 4
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 8-ounce package nonfat cream cheese, softened
- 3 tablespoons chopped pimiento
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Cut-up vegetables, low-fat crackers or baked chips (not included in nutritional information)
Directions:
- Combine all ingredients except cut-up vegetables or crackers in food processor or blender and process until smooth and creamy.
- Spoon cheese mixture into bowl and cover with plastic wrap; refrigerate up to 1 week.
- Serve with vegetables, low-fat crackers or baked chips.
Tips:
- According to ancient Greek herbal lore, black pepper was once used as an aphrodisiac due to its heat-producing powers.
