Italian Bruschetta

This is an easy and delicious appetizer that will add a touch of Italy to your meal.

Serves: Serves 6 to 8

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf Italian bread
  • 1 TB. garlic
  • 2 TB. olive oil
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 tsp. dried basil
  • 1 tsp. kosher salt

Directions:

  1. Slice bread into 12-inch slices, and toast or broil each side to a light brown.
  2. Mix garlic and 1 table-spoon olive oil in a cup and brush each side of each piece of bread with some of the mixture.
  3. In another bowl, mix tomatoes, basil, remaining olive oil, and salt.
  4. Top each piece of bread with a portion of tomatoes and serve.
