Blended Magical Margaritas

Here's a delightful teetotaling take on the beloved margarita!

Serves: Serves: 4 (1 cup)

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cup + 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups Diet Mountain Dew
  • 2 tablespoons pourable Sugar Twin or Sprinkle Sweet
  • 2 cups ice cubes

Directions:

  1. Pour 1 tablespoon lime juice in a small bowl. Sprinkle salt on a piece of waxed paper.
  2. Dip the rims of 4 tall glasses into lime juice, then into salt. Place the glasses in the freezer for 15 minutes or until "frost" sets.
  3. Just before serving, in a blender container, combine remaining 1/4 cup lime juice, Diet Mountain Dew, and Sugar Twin. Cover and process on BLEND for 10 seconds.
  4. Add ice cubes, a couple at a time, re-cover, and process on BLEND for 30 to 40 seconds or until mixture is blended.
  5. Evenly spoon into frosted glasses. Serve at once.
Tips:
  • Use either fresh lime juice or the lime juice that comes in a plastic lime from the Produce section of store. DO NOT use bottled lime juice!
