Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies
Chocolate oatmeal cookes are a classic that should be in every cook's repertoire.
Serves: 6 dozen cookies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup margarine, softened
- 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 3/4 cup sugar
- l egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 cups uncooked oats
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375°.
- Cream margarine and sugars.
- Add egg, vanilla, flour, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Blend well.
- Stir in oats and chocolate chips.
- Drop batter by teaspoon-fills onto ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake 8 minutes. Cool.
