Basic Pizza Dough

Serves: makes 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 3 2/3 cups bread flour
- two 1/4 oz ( 7g) envelopes instant yeast
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups tepid water
- 2 tbsp olive oil, plus more for the bowl
Directions:
- Combine the flour, yeast, and salt in a large bowl. Make a well in the center, add the water and oil, and stir to make a soft dough. Knead on a lightly floured work surface about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
- Roll the dough into a ball. Place in a lightly oiled bowl and turn to coat the dough. Cover tightly with plastic wrap. Let stand in a warm place until doubled in size.
Tips:
- Prepare ahead: The dough can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 1 day. Let stand in a warm place about 21/2 hours, until doubled, and knead briefly before using.
- Good with a variety of vegetables, meats, and cheeses to make a wide range of pizzas.
