Cook-It-Later Lasagna for Lazy Chefs
You can put this lasagna recipe together ahead of time, then pop it in the oven when the time is right!
Serves: Serves: 8
Ingredients:
- 4 cups nonfat pasta sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 12 ounces lasagna noodles, uncooked
- 2 cups nonfat ricotta cheese
- 3 cups shredded nonfat mozzarella cheese
Directions:
- Spray 2 (9-inch-square) baking dishes with cooking spray.
- Combine pasta sauce, Italian seasoning and garlic powder; mix well.
- Pour 1 cup sauce in bottom of each baking dish.
- Layer 1/4 lasagna noodles, ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese and sauce in each pan; repeat layers.
- Cover with foil and freeze.
- At least 1 day before serving: place lasagna in refrigerator (do not microwave) until completely thawed.
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Bake lasagna, covered, 45 to 50 minutes; remove foil and bake 10 to 15 minutes, until lightly browned.
- Let stand at room temperature 5 to 10 minutes, until cheese sets. Lasagna can also be baked, frozen and reheated if desired.
Tips:
- The freezer can become your best friend for planning, preparing and cooking meals; store frozen meals at 0F or below and use within 3 months for best quality.
