Type: Main Dishes
Soybeans are a healthy and surprisingly fun food. Little hands love to open up the pods and pick out each little bean.
Serves: Makes about 3 cups
- 1 pound fresh or frozen thawed edamame or green soybeans
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Put a steamer basket in a large saucepan with 1" water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce the heat to medium. Add the beans and sprinkle with the salt. Cover and steam for 10 minutes or until the beans are warmed through.
- Uncover and let the beans cool. To serve, remove and discard the tough, stringy pods and eat the beans inside.
