Steamed Baby-Carrot Teething Snacks

Serve a few of these to your teething toddler to gnaw on (keep an eye on him, of course). You just might get him hooked on carrots!

Makes about 1 cup

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 pound baby carrots
  • 1 wedge lemon

Directions:

  1. Put a steamer basket in a large saucepan with 1" water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce the heat to medium. Add the carrots, then squeeze the lemon wedge over the carrots (this will enliven their flavor). Cover and steam for 4 minutes or until the carrots are slightly tender.
  2. Rinse the carrots under running cold water until cool. Put any leftover carrots in a storage container and refrigerate for up to 4 days.
