Sandwich Sliced Pickles

  • 1 1/3 pounds pickling cucumbers, sliced
  • 2 2/3 cups sliced onions
  • 1 1/3 tablespoons salt
  • 1/3 to 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/3 cups sugar
  • 2/3 cup cider vinegar
