Sandwich Sliced Pickles
Making pickles at home is an experience your child will remember forever. Plus, these pickles make great lunch snacks.

Ingredients:
- 1 1/3 pounds pickling cucumbers, sliced
- 2 2/3 cups sliced onions
- 1 1/3 tablespoons salt
- 1/3 to 1/2 cup water
- 1 1/3 cups sugar
- 2/3 cup cider vinegar
- The USDA reports that the average American consumes 8 1/2 pounds of pickles each year; dill pickles are twice as popular as sweet.
